4. Contacts and Talkgroup Management for Dispatch

The Central Admin Tool (CAT) manages the contacts and talkgroups in Dispatch. The Central Admin Tool is a centralized web portal which helps in managing contacts and talkgroups for the dispatchers. The following are the brief descriptions of the key features of the Central Admin Tool:

Dispatcher Profile Management – Allows a corporate admin to manage the user’s profile such as name, user ID and permissions.

Contacts Management – Allows a corporate admin to manage fleet members assigned to the dispatcher. The corporate admin can assign authorized user for activating user monitoring for the fleet member. The dispatcher by default is an authorized user.

Talkgroup Management – Allows a corporate admin to manage dispatch talkgroups in the corporation. The dispatcher can create my talkgroup and area talkgroup. The my talkgroup and area talkgroup are independent of CAT and managed in the Dispatch.

Contacts Management using User Set – Allows a corporate admin to manage the user set in the corporation. User set can be assigned as contacts or added to groups.

External Contacts Management – Allows a corporate admin to assign users external to the corporation as contacts to a corporate user. The administrator creates a dispatch group for the dispatcher. Dispatch supports multiple dispatchers in a group. A user can belong to one or more dispatch groups. The dispatcher is a supervisor by default. If the user is a dispatcher, it will be shown with the dispatcher icon and its presence status in the “Contacts and Talkgroups,” “Map,” “Map Selection List,” “Message,” and “Alert” tab.

Note: Interop User phone numbers and Interop Talkgroup phone numbers are not allowed  to add as a member of My Talkgroup.
