User monitoring allows dispatcher who is an authorized user to collect information on target member’s device who is not responding to the calls, IPAs or messages. After evaluating and accessing, the authorized user can view the actual reasons and can take necessary actions.
9.1 User Check
Once you select user check for a fleet member, the following information will be shown:
- Fleet member’s name
- Presence status
- Phone number
- Status Code
- Fleet member’s location
- Battery status
- Emergency state
- Signal strength of Wi-Fi or LTE of the member’s device.
- Last update time
9.2 Ambient Listening
There are two types of Ambient Listening:
Remote Started Ambient Listening – Dispatcher who is an authorized user can remotely activate the target user’s device Mic to listen to the surroundings and gather information without knowing them and take necessary actions like remote emergency and enable or disable the member’s device. The target user does not receive any indication for the ambient listening call.
Self-Started Ambient Listening – A specific target member can open their Mic and send the audio to an authorized dispatcher. There is no indication in the Target user’s device that they have self- started an ambient listening call (OS restrictions apply). The moment the target user initiates any call to anyone, the self-started ambient listening feature is turned off.
Note: Dispatcher is not allowed to do ambient listening for self or other dispatcher.
9.3 Discreet Listening
The discreet listening allows dispatcher who is an authorized user to remotely listen to the conversations of any call to and from the selected member without knowing them. Once activated, the device remains active until it is cleared. An authorized user will not receive any calls in this mode
except emergency and broadcast calls. Discreet Listening must be enabled for the authorized users in the CAT.
Discreet listening is transparent to the selected user and typically used for training purposes. Dispatcher can exit the ongoing call without ending the discreet session in progress or can end the discreet session.
Note: Dispatcher cannot do the discreet listen to an ongoing PTT call where dispatcher them self is one of the participant.
9.4 Remote Disable or Enable of the Fleet Member
The dispatcher who is an authorized can disable or enable the device of the fleet member remotely. Once disabled, the dispatcher will not be able to make PTT calls and send message to the fleet member. The fleet member will be shown as disabled in the Dispatch. The dispatcher can enable the fleet member later if needed.
