You can add users manually one at a time or you can add multiple users via a.CSV document.
- The Radio system (LMR Interop) feature is available for both Collaboration and Safeguard package customers.
- The customers with the Collaboration package need to purchase LMR Interop add-on licenses and then enable the LMR Interop feature on the user page.
- The LMR Interop feature is a part of the Safeguard package by default.
- The customers who are upgrading to the Safeguard package, do not need to purchase LMR Interop add-on licenses exclusively and this feature is enabled by default.
Note:
- The LMR Interop feature is only available for the US region.
- Customers created between 1st Oct 2019 to 30th June 2021, the LMR Interop feature is lifetime free for existing users. For new users, customers need to purchase LMR Interop as an add-on.
- The MOTOTRBO customers have to either downgrade to Collaboration or upgrade to the Safeguard package to use the LMR Interop feature and have to follow the same process mentioned in the previous section.
For Collaboration subscription
Once you have a paid subscription to WAVE you have the option to purchase WAVE Dispatcher licenses so you can use the WAVE Dispatcher console. This powerful tool runs straight in your browser and has an extensive library of features. Below you will find steps on how to create a WAVE Dispatcher user and a Dispatcher Talkgroup.
- STEP 1: Add WAVE Dispatcher Users
- STEP 2: Create Dispatcher Talkgroup(s)
- STEP 3: Associate Dispatchers and Users to Talkgroups
- STEP 4: Download the WAVE Dispatcher Users Guide
STEP 1: Add Users
- From the homepage click the Users button.
- Click Add User.
- Click WAVE Dispatch.
- Add the following information:
(Note: Text in the above image is an example).- In Display Name, enter the name of the user as it will appear to other WAVE users in WAVE client devices.
- In Email, the unique email address is required, this is what you will use to log in to the Dispatcher console. It must be in the correct format (name + @ + domain + extension). i.e. User@noreply.com.
- Leave the Active checkbox selected unless you wish to deactivate this user. Deactivated users may be activated at any time.
- Select AddOn package(s) if you want this user to be capable of video streaming.
- Click the Save button.
STEP 2: Create Dispatcher Talkgroup(s)
- Click Talkgroups.
The Talkgroup screen opens.
- Click the large plus icon to create a new Talkgroup.
- In Talkgroup Name, enter a name for the new Talkgroup.
- In Talkgroup Type select Dispatch
- In the Select a radio system list, leave the selection as ‘None’ if there is no radio system on this Talkgroup. You can edit Talkgroups later if you need to add or remove a Radio System. Radio/Talkgroup association will be covered in Radio Quick Start Configuration. For now, you will create a Dispatcher Only Talkgroup.
- Click the green check icon when you are done.
The new Talkgroup appears on the page.
STEP 3: Associate Dispatchers and Users to Talkgroups
- In the Talkgroup screen, hover over the Talkgroup and click the Edit icon.
- From here you can edit the Dispatchers and Users.
- Add at least one Dispatcher and two users in a Dispatchers Talkgroup.

For Critical Communications/MOTOTRBO subscription

STEP 3: Associate Dispatchers and Users to Talkgroups
- In the Talkgroup screen, hover over the Talkgroup and click the pencil icon.
- From here you can edit the Dispatchers and Users as well as the Radio System association.
- You must have at least one Dispatcher and two usersin a Dispatchers Talkgroup.
Manage Talkgroups Associations
Click the Manage> link next to the user to go to the Central Admin Tool (CAT) page associated with the user. You can also click on the name of the user and click the Manage Talkgroup Associations link to go to the Central Admin Tool (CAT) of the user’s profile.
There are three types of call permissions that you can assign to a talkgroup:
Change Call Initiating Permissions
- From the CALL INITIATE drop-down associated with the talkgroup, select Allow or Do not Allow and click the SAVE button.
- An information message displays.
- Click OK to continue.
Change Call Receiving Permissions
- From the CALL RECEIVE drop-down associated with the talkgroup, select Allow or Do not Allow and click the SAVE button.
- An information message displays.
- Click OK to continue.
Change In Call Permissions
- From the IN CALL drop-down associated with the talkgroup, select Talk AND Listen or Listen Only and click the SAVE button.
- An information message displays.
- Click OK to continue.
Location Watcher
Location Capabilities allows user to track the location of the talkgroup members. To enable the location watcher capability of the user for talkgroup:
- Select the talkgroup checkbox and select the LOCATION WATCHER checkbox associated with that talkgroup.
- Click the SAVE button.
- An information message displays.
- Click OK to continue.
Supervisor
The supervisory capability allows users to have the privilege to take the floor and speak at any time during a call, even if someone else has the floor. To enable the supervisory capability of the user for any talkgroup:
- Select the talkgroup checkbox and select the SUPERVISOR checkbox associated with that talkgroup.
- Click the SAVE button.
- An information message displays.
- Click OK to continue.
Position
The Standard and Dispatch talkgroups need a position for the talkgroup calling. You can assign between 1-16 positions for a talkgroup.
